Why we started

Through my experience working in the disability sector, I saw how important it is for people with disabilities and their families to feel heard, respected, safe, and empowered to make choices about their own lives.

Equal Access Care was built on the belief that every person should have access to the right supports, opportunities and people around them, while also being empowered to aspire to their goals, dreams, and the life they want to live.

I wanted to create a provider that goes beyond simply delivering a service, and instead focuses on meaningful relationships, independence, choice and genuine outcomes. The name says what we are here for: equal access to the support people need, and care that helps them aspire to a life beyond what they may have thought possible.

How we work

• Consistency first. Small, stable teams around each participant. You'll know your workers' names, and they'll know how you take your coffee.
• Your goals set the agenda. Supports map to what's in your plan and what you tell us matters, reviewed with you, not about you.
• Plain language, always. Agreements, invoices and reports written in plain English. If anything we send isn't clear, that's our fault, not yours.
• No lock-in. Change or end supports with reasonable notice and no exit penalty.
